Welcome to the Summer Term.
This term we are focusing on growth and change. We will be planting vegetables in our new raised bed and hope to cook these on the campfire. We will investigate changes to our woodland and make observations of the growth of all the new plants.
We are hoping to see some baby animals on our Farm trip and will also be 'growing' our own butterflies.
Phonics will continue to be taught in groups which exactly match your child's ability and we will continue to develop phonic ability in our daily phonics lessons.
In Mathematics, we will continue to develop skill with numbers. We will be learning to count to 100 and to count in 10s.
Thank you for letting us know how much you are enjoying the games from our Maths library. We aim to add some new games this term.
Please continue to read with your child every day, even a few minutes really does make a difference. If you would like any guidance or further resources please talk to us.
We will be working on letter formation this term. Letter formation activities are available just inside the classroom.
Some things we have been enjoying in Cherry Class.
We have PE With our Sports Coach Mr Wolfe on Monday mornings (half the class attend Forest school, half attend PE). Please ensure your child has suitable, named indoor and outdoor PE kit in school.
Forest school is an inspirational process that offers everybody the opportunity to achieve and develop confidence and self esteem through hands on learning experiences in our on-site woodland. Our Forest School sessions are on Monday mornings.
Things we need
Please ensure all clothing is clearly labelled with your child's name
Our door is always open if you need to discuss anything or simply want to find out more please talk to us. Tapestry is a good way of checking what we have been up to. You can upload photographs and information for us to enjoy as well (if you need any help with this please just ask).
Bug Club: Please give this a try, it includes a wide range of of e-books and lots of exciting games too.
Fun games to support Maths and Phonics
If you have access to an IPad or tablet there are lots of free Apps which will support learning
