Our topic this term is:

Bright Lights, Big City!

Our topic is all about ... London!

We are also going to be learning about the Great Fire of London; what happened and how it has impacted our lives today. We shall be identifying different materials in Science and preparing to make our own Tudor houses... ready to burn in our own Great Fire of London re-enactment!

In Art we will be making city-scape and landscape pictures and looking at famous examples. And slightly closer to home in Geography; focusing on our local area and comparing it with London; learning about the differences between large cities and smaller towns.

We have got so many fantastic and exciting things planned; it’s going to be a wonderful new term!

Things to do at home

  • Please continue to read at home, a few minutes every day really does make a difference.
  • Practise reading and writing the Red Words.
  • Find opportunities to count and recognise numbers when out and about.

We have PE every Friday morning. Please ensure your child has a suitable, named indoor and outdoor PE kit in school.

Things you will need

  • Spare clothes to have in school at all times.
  • Book bags - these should have your child's reading record inside with their current reading book. These need to be in school every day.
  • PE kit - season appropriate please.

Please ensure all clothing is clearly labelled with your child's name so that we can try our best to return any items if lost.

Our door is always open if you need to discuss anything or simply want to find out more please talk to us.
