After our October half term we will be completing a unit of work called 'Ultimate Rap'. During this unit, the children will write and perform their own raps. As a class, they will listen to raps and poems and learn about the differences between rap and poetry. After some teacher modelling they will look at ideas for topics for raps before developing and writing their own. At the end of the unit, the children will perform their raps with a beat accompaniment. We hope to film these performances and share some of these with you!
In maths we will be covering units of work that look at multiplication and division, area and perimeter and fractions.
Please encourage your children to continue to practice their timetables online and complete their weekly homework.
In Science we will be looking at different materials. The children will be comparing and grouping everyday materials based on their properties. They will record data and results to gives reasons, based on their evidence, as to particular uses of everyday materials.
This half term we will be continuing to travel through time by studying the Viking era. The children will learn about the Viking way of life, their traditions and methods of travel. The children will make use of the VR headsets to enable them to step into Viking life. Our My Way Homework challenge is linked to this topic and we can't wait to see all of the fabulous contributions that the children make!
