Autumn Term

Welcome back!

This term we will be reading 'Oranges in No Man's Land' which is a fabulous book written by Elizabeth Laird. During this unit of work we will write diary extracts, take part in drama based activities and learn about the civil war in Beirut. This is a highly engaging text and we hope that your children come home to share this story with you.

We will be covering units of work on, place value within 100,000, addition and subtraction, graphs and tables, multiplication and division and area and perimeter. Please encourage your child to practice their times tables at home as these are extremely important.

This term we will be learning about our solar system. Throughout the unit we will learn about the order of our solar system, what constellations are, why each planet is different and what makes a planet habitable.

This term we will be studying the Anglo-saxons. Throughout this unit we will learn why the vikings invaded England and what made England vulnerable at the time. We will also look at the lifestyle of a viking and how they survived throughout their era.
