These home learning challenges focus on comparing groups and using mathematical language to talk about more and fewer. This is something that we have been thinking about recently in class. Have a go at some of the challenges at home and let us know how you get on using Tapestry.
Now try these challenges...
These are all the sounds that we have looked at so far in class. Please use your sound cards to review them at home. You could also try blending some sounds together to make some 2 or 3 letter words, such as jet, big and shop.
16th October: Half Term Challenge!
Create a self-portrait using natural resources. You could make a face or a picture of your whole self, a picture of just you or of you and your family. Please make a name label add it to your portrait then take a photograph of your art and upload to Tapestry. I will print them next term for display in our classroom
Remember our forest school rules:
1. Don't pick anything that is growing
2. If you do not know what it is don't use it! ( some things are not safe to use)
3. Always check with a grown up
We are looking forward to creating a gallery of your self portraits.
9th October: Phonics
These are this week’s letter sounds. Please use your sound cards to review all of the sounds we have learnt so far.
2nd October: Phonics
Here are the letter sounds we have learnt so far. Please spend some time reviewing the sounds and using your sound cards to build words. I wonder how many words you can make!
This home learning challenge focuses on oral blending and segmenting. We have been working hard on hearing the sounds in words in class, and the challenges described will help support our learning.
29th September: Numbers
This week we have been learning how to use fives frames to help us count. We have also practised reading and writing numerals. Have a go at practising counting up to 5 objects at home and identifying numbers in the environment.
22nd September: Phonics
These are the sounds we have learnt so far. We have been spending this week blending the sounds together to make words. Please review them at home using your own sound cards.
15th September: Reading and writing your name
Please use your child's name label to practice reading and writing their name. Don't forget to have a go at using a cursive script when writing.
