Check out our wonderful houses that we have designed and made for our Great Fire of London display. There was some great teamwork that went into these fabulous creations... well done Year 2!
Christmas poems
We will be learning a variety of Christmas poems in the lead up to the holidays. The children will use the poems to practice their beautiful handwriting! Here's our first poem that will well and truly get us in the festive spirit:

Maths Through Stories
We learnt some maths through reading 'The Doorbell Rang' by Pat Hutchins, a perfect book for some problem solving! First we acted the story out, pretending to share cookies with each person as they came to our 'house'. We then described what was happening each time, explaining what we noticed, what we wondered and linked the story with our own experiences. We did some reasoning, some 'prove it to me' and 'show me'. During the activity we practiced sharing the twelve cookies between different numbers of people. We extended our learning by writing number sentences, including multiplications.

Science: Living Things
We have been identifying and comparing the different stages of life. We have been looking at pictures of ourselves when we were babies and played a game of 'Guess Who?!'... it was pretty tricky at times!
